He completed his MBBS and MS in General Surgery from the Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University (IMS-BHU) and served as an Ex-Senior Resident at Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi.

It is important to decide to trust the doctor who will perform the operation. Someone you have not met before in a country and a medical tradition that is unfamiliar. I found this to be easy in the case of Dr. Saurabh Verma. It was clear from the onset that he is very competent, and also listens to his patients. It was important for me that he respected my choice not to operate on the hemorrhoids.
It was very nice to be appointed the delux ward where there is more space and less people so that it was easier to relax and reflect on my situation and consequences of my medical problem.
After that it is a question of letting-go. The various examinations were done in a professional manner. I actually enjoyed the ride in the ambulance to the MRI.
Finally the moment for the operation arrived and also here all the steps were done in the professional manner that I know from Dutch hospitals. The operation theatre was new and well-equipped. The anaesthesiologist was reassuring. The staff was very clear and strict in the do's and don'ts (no drinking, no food, no moving of head etc) which also is reassuring.
